Candle Burning

Candle Burning:

To ensure safety and optimal performance when burning candles, always trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use, burn for a maximum of 4 hours at a time, and keep the candle away from drafts, flammable objects, children, and pets. Additionally, never leave a burning candle unattended.

Detailed Tips:

Wick Trimming:  Before each lighting, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This prevents a large, flickering flame, soot buildup, and uneven burning.

Burn Time:  Limit each burn to a maximum of 4 hours. Longer burn times can lead to overheating, uneven wax melting, and increased soot.

Safe Distance:  Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from each other and away from flammable materials like curtains, bedding, and furniture.

Drafts:  Avoid placing candles in drafty areas, as drafts can cause uneven burning, dripping, and potential fire hazards.

Unattended Candles:  Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish the candle before leaving the room or going to sleep.

Cooling Time:  Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting, trimming the wick, or moving it.

Extinguishing:  Use a snuffer to extinguish the candle flame instead of blowing it out. This prevents hot wax from splattering and reduces smoke.

Safe Surface:  Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface to prevent tipping and wax spills.

Candle Holders:  Use candle holders designed for the specific type of candle to provide stability and prevent tipping.

Don't Burn All the Way Down:  For safety, discontinue burning a candle when there is about 1/2 inch of wax remaining in the container.

Power Outages:  Use battery-powered lights like flashlights instead of candles during power outages.
